Something happened at book club last week that doesn’t usually happen.
I started speaking about happiness, and how writers can find it.
The more I think about it, the more I think it applies to all creative folks, not just writers.
As I think through this idea, I’ve decided to turn 27 minutes of last week’s two-hour book club meeting into a standalone video. My hope is that these thoughts inspire you to find your creative path this winter.
What do I mean by “infinity” and what does it have to do with Gertrude Stein, Virginia Woolf, and Anton Chekhov?
You will have to watch the video below to find out. It’s for paid subscribers only.
If you do watch it, I’d love to know your reaction in the comments.
As mentioned, it’s 27 minutes long, and it’s excerpted from the two-hour second meeting of the A Room of One’s Own book club1 last week.
(There’s still time to join the club if you’d like to have all three two-hour recordings.)
Find the video below. There is a 1-minute preview at the top of this post.
Here’s the video
A few thoughts on finding infinity, and why it is the truest happiness I know —
And what Stein, Woolf, and Chekhov have to say about it —
And why others may not understand it —
And how to pursue it anyway…
