What are you reading tonight?
Silent Reading Party is from 6 pm to 8 pm Pacific. Eeeeeeeeeeee!
What are you reading tonight? If you’re attending the Silent Reading Party, I’d love to know! Even if you’re not attending tonight’s reading party, I’d love to know.
How to enjoy tonight’s live music
If you have a ticket to the in-person party at the Sorrento, you’re one of the lucky ones: it’s sold out.
If you don’t have an in-person reservation at the Sorrento, never fear: we also broadcast the live music over Zoom, which anyone can attend, with a virtual ticket.
If you’re a paid subscriber here, you don’t need that virtual ticket. Just click here and come on into the Zoom room any time between 6 pm and 8 pm tonight.
Literary birthdays of the week are announced around 6:10 pm, during brief welcome remarks.

What are you reading?
Like I said, I’d love to know — I find out about books I’ve never even heard of by reading the comments threads on these posts.
Bonus points if you type out a favorite sentence, to give a sense of what the book is like.
Or maybe you’re going to bring a stack of magazines like I am? Or some schoolwork? Or a sketchbook to write or draw in?
The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles
I'll be reading A Previous Life; love Edmund White. Tom's reading Wellness, by Nathan Hill. We were both big fans of his previous novel The Nix. Looking forward to it.
