What are you reading?
Here's what I'm bringing to tonight's Silent Reading Party at 7:30 pm at the Sorrento

What are you reading?
I’m reading Who Are We Now? by Blaise Agüera y Arcas, and I’m taking my sweet time, because it’s incredible.
It’s like a textbook about the future of our species. On every page I learn two or three things I did not know — about science, history, geography, gender — and I don’t want to miss a thing. It costs a little more than most books do, because it has color images and graphs on every page.
If you’re a fan of books like Sapiens — books that take a macro view on civilization — Who Are We Now? by Blaise Agüera y Arcas is a must-read. Plus, it’s written by a Seattle author and thinker who works on AI at Google.
And you? What are you reading?
How to attend tonight’s party virtually
Tonight’s party goes from 7:30 pm-9:30 pm Pacific. The party at the Sorrento is sold out.
If you don’t have a reservation in the Fireside Room, you may still join us from your favorite reading chair home. We broadcast the live set of the reading party music over Zoom.
If you are a paid subscriber here on substack, click here to find that Zoom link for your free entry.
If you are a free subscriber here, you will have to buy a virtual ticket to join us.
New parties now accepting reservations
These two upcoming brunch parties are currently on sale only for paid subscribers to this Substack.
Tomorrow the paywall on that post will disappear and free subscribers here on Substack will have access to those reservations.
A week from tomorrow, they will go on sale at SilentReadingParty.com and be added to the Sorrento’s website.
