I am reading Dune for the first time, because I’m enrolled in the Dune book club that meets on Zoom tomorrow night.

I’ve never read a word of Dune before, and am not typically a sci-fi guy. Wish me luck!

Today’s musician: Worker Sam

Worker Sam was one of the very first musicians at the reading party, back during the Obama administration. We are thrilled to welcome them back for today’s party.

Worker Sam will perform live from 3 to 5 pm Pacific.

They are a cellist, songwriter, and session musician who uses loop pedals to layer intricate cello arrangements and create improvised compositions.

Literary birthdays will be announced during a brief pause in the music at 3:10 pm.
