Whether you’re attending the sold out Silent Reading Party tonight at the Sorrento, or tuning into the party from afar (click here), or not attending the reading party at all tonight — what are you reading?
I get the best ideas about what to read next from reading these comments threads, and so do other people!

If you’re not reading anything at the moment, what’s on your nightstand?
How to tip tonight’s musician
Paul will play original covers and arrangements of blues, jazz, pop, rock, classical music, film scores, and more. He makes it look easy.
If you would like to show Paul some extra love for playing piano for two hours straight and creating the perfect ambiance for us:

Im reading David Szalay’s “All That Man Is,” crystalline, bracing and gauche, like a Martin Parr photo (RIP). Fluctuating between that and Rick Moody’s brilliant “The Ice Storm” based on our current weather forecast here on the East Coast and as a new tonal way forward for a new novel.
Christopher: You have two worthy reading choices there. And if you don't want to read the gory details at the end of "Moby Dick," maybe you can skip those and not feel guilty. ;) "Intelligence" looks fascinating.
I'm currently reading "Coming Up Short," Robert Reich's totally engrossing book recounting everything from his early childhood, struggles with bullying in school, academic path and interests, through to his start in government and later, activist politics (although he has always been a passionate activist for the little man and the middle class). We are huge Robert Reich fans, and his brilliance, passion, and insights are especially needed today. I highly recommend subscribing to his Substack - he has a large following.
