Last chance for Dune!!
We start on Monday night. No reading necessary before the first meeting
I am so excited for this. I’ve never read Dune before.
Chris Lydgate is the perfect guy to get me into it — because he’s an investigative journalist who really knows how to dig into things, and because he tells the best stories.
Through his eyes, we’ll be digging into not just the book by Frank Herbert but also the Hans Zimmer film score.
Discussion questions went out yesterday to everyone who’s signed up for the club.
If you didn’t get those, you’re not signed up!
The first discussion question
Here it is, from the email Chris sent out:
In Dune, Frank Herbert created an entire world, with its own history, people, languages, and legends. What are some literary examples of imaginary worlds that you have loved—or hated—and why?
Oooh, that’s a fun question.
I’ve already got all these imaginary worlds swirling through my head as possible answers.
To see the other discussion question
You gotta sign up. The full discussion questions will be included with your emailed receipt and confirmation.
Also included in that email will the Zoom link.
You also need a copy of the book. Get this one to have the same page numbers as everyone else.
All meetings are recorded, and recordings are sent out automatically each week, so if you miss any or all of the live sessions, don’t worry — you won’t miss anything.
I am going way way way out of my comfort zone reading Dune, but I'd do anything with the Chrises!
