There's a reading party Saturday at noon
Here's the link for virtual entry. If you have Sorrento reservations, I'll see you there
There’s a brunch Silent Reading Party at the Sorrento from 12 pm to 2 pm on Saturday — our last brunch party on the calendar. (The Sorrento has other programming on Saturdays for the next two months.)
I love brunch parties because the coffee and the daylight make reading even easier (especially given the jet lag from my Italy trip).
So let’s make the best of this one! Reservations are still available.

Paul Matthew Moore will perform live on piano from 12 pm to 2 pm Pacific — an original set of his own arrangements, designed to be ideal reading ambiance.
He explained how he puts together his sets to Good Morning America.
Literary birthdays will be announced during a brief pause in the music at 12:10 pm.
How to get in virtually
The virtual party is free for paid subscribers of this substack. Thank you for supporting the party with your subscription.
Click on the Zoom link at the bottom of this post anytime between noon and 2 pm to be transported directly into the party.
If you are an unpaid subscriber here on Substack, you’ll need a virtual ticket to join us. (Or become a paid subscriber and the paywall below will disappear.)
If you’re joining us virtually, don’t listen on your device’s built-in speakers! Plug your computer into speakers or wear headphones. The music will sound better and you will feel more connected to the rest of us at the Sorrento.
For in-person attendees, valet parking is free
As of this moment, there are still good seats available at the Sorrento for Saturday brunch.
Valet parking is free during daytime reading parties. Did you know that? (At night, it’s 50% off, but during daytime parties, it’s free.)
Anyone with a Sorrento reservation will be in the room where it happens, where the live music is broadcast from — and I will see you there.
How to tip the musician
This is optional, but if you would like to send Paul a little extra love:
His Venmo is paulmatthew-moore (and if you need them, the last four digits of his number are 9033)
His Paypal is paulmatthewmoore
What are you reading?
I’ll put up a post in a little while for you to share what you’re reading on Saturday.
