"Middlemarch" book club playlist
Tunes that have been setting the mood in the George Eliot book club
George Eliot listened to a lot of Mozart. (She might enjoy the latest episode of the podcast.) Also Handel, Beethoven, and other composers she herself played on piano.
We have listened to a little Mozart during the Middlemarch book club, but mostly we listen to more contemporary fare. Most of the tracks were suggested by book club’s unrivaled music curator, Suzie Baunsgard, with a few suggestions from Audrey, Paul, and others in the mix as well.
All are related to the themes and characters we’re encountering each week — and we’re not done with the book yet! So this playlist will grow over the next month as the club concludes.
